ACADEMIC DIVISION

 Academic division is responsible for teaching medical cadets in accordance with the curriculum laid down by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council for MBBS degree from Dhaka University. The teaching doctrine employed by the college is based on the principle that provides a structured process of institutional teaching, which combines continuity and candour with an absolute obsession for perfection. The aim being to turn each and every medical cadets into medical graduates of advanced knowledge and expertise capable of matching the challenge of 21 st centruy in terms of handling suffering humanity both during war and peace. The medical cadets are taguht with modern methods of teaching using audio-visual aids, transparencies, slides and movies on VCR. Special emphasis is given on practical training. Habit of self-study and self confidence is inculcated in young medical cadets by exposing them to group discussion, seminars and symposia. Regular tests are taken to identify the stragglers and assess progress. The medical cadets of Armed Forces Medical College get pride exposure of a group of well trained and qualified teaching staff. They also get exposure of some eminent retired professors of the country in different specialties. The medium of instruction in AFMC is English. The academic division has the following departments :
